The Bolsheviks

With the Bolsheviks* being the other main fighting faction in the Russian Civil War meant it had it's own plans for Ukraine, and their goals were different than the Whites** but they had some similarities. Just like the Whites they wished to keep Ukraine in the hands of Russia, whether it be through a more federative system like what was implemented or a system of direct control whch was proposed. With these goals in mind, they somewhat succeeded, as Bolsheviks forces maaged to capture Ukraine before being pushed out by the Central powers, but months later they were able to successfully capture the entirety of the country and cement their control.
